A little note from me...
This year as we all know hasn’t been as planned. We’ve had lots of exciting projects, beautiful weddings and workshops postponed until next year, but every cloud always has a silver lining and even though we’re in a period of real uncertainty, it’s allowed me to focus on the flowers, being creative, painting, designing, cooking and dreaming up gorgeous ideas. The one thing I’ve adored most of all is teaching you all through Instagram.
From bad things, great things come and it really has been so lovely to see so many of you have the time to either discover flower arranging, refine your skills or learn new styles and techniques. I’ve completely loved showing you and sharing my process and it’s inspired me to put together a little treat for a refreshing new year.
So it is with great excitement that I’ll be opening our doors for a one day workshop full of beautiful flowers, tasty home-cooked food and so many extra gorgeous treats. We’ll be hosting this class next Spring with fresh ruffly flowers in the most delicious colour palettes. As we only have this one workshop planned, we’ve decided we’re pulling out all the stops! This is going to be a celebration, something glorious to look forward to! We may add other dates later on in the year, but for the meantime, the diary is now open and we’ll be taking bookings, so if you’d like to secure your spot just email me at email@example.com.
I’m so looking forward to seeing you even though we have to wait a little while, so if you’d like to have a practice in the meantime, you can watch my tutorials here.
THE SPRING WORKSHOP
You’ll be welcomed with a basket of freshly baked pastries and a cup of hot coffee that you can sip as you browse the flowers and pick out your favourite colour palettes. Once all our guests have arrived there will be extra little treats and you'll be provided with all your tools and materials you’ll need for the day.
Our first class of the day will be gorgeous, garden-inspired bouquets. Made with the most beautiful, fragrant Spring flowers, they’ll feel natural, romantic, a little wild and finished with beautiful, trailing ribbons that you can choose from our ribbon cupboard. We’ll photograph your lovely work, then package all your bouquets up safe and sound, ready to take home with you at the end of the day.
We’ll enjoy a delicious home-cooked lunch, from one of my Spring recipes that I’ve prepared especially for the workshop. We’ll dine amongst our flowers, discuss our next class together and I’ll answer any questions you may have thought about through the morning.
After lunch we’ll begin our beautiful bowl arrangement class. I always use these arrangements as the focal point on a lunch or supper table, they’re such a lovely thing to know how to create. I’ll guide you through and give you little tips and tricks and alter things if we need to, you’ll finish with a stunning arrangement that you can take home with your bouquet.
For our final class, accompanied by cakes and a cup of tea or a glass of my favourite bubbles, I’ll show you how I dress and style the table. I’ll lead you through all the materials I use, where I find everything and what to think about when positioning. We’ll then place your arrangement you created earlier, one by one on the table for photographs.
You’ll leave with armfuls of your gorgeous creations, homemade notebooks, a certificate, any leftover flowers remaining plus new skills that you can use when you get home. Then following the class, you’ll receive a digital package of notes that’ll cover all the classes you learnt that day, an extensive list of the flowers we used, the tools and equipment you need, the recipe of our delicious lunch and my supplier details along with all the photographs we took of your work.
It was amazing to spend the day with you at the workshop. I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed it and how interesting and informative you made it. The flowers have lasted amazingly, and in fact, only this morning did I reluctantly - very reluctantly, have to put them on the compost. Everyone who came to the house commented on how beautiful they were.
