THE DOORS ARE OPEN . . .

It is with great pleasure and anticipation that I finally announce the opening of my brand new Flower School! This is something I’ve dreamt of since starting my flower adventure 5 years ago. Sharing a love for flowers with people as well as knowledge and skills is such a lovely thing. I’ve run several workshops over the years and always get so much out of them. Teaching people and seeing the progression is so very rewarding, now I’m making it my main focus. I wanted to create a place to share my enthusiasm, a place to learn, a place to be inspired, a place full of beauty but above all I wanted to create a place for people to be encouraged rather than criticised.

After much deliberation on structure, I’ve decided to start with a variety of classes that’ll run until Christmas this year. After each class, we’ll look at what worked best and what people loved to learn and we’ll restructure the calendar for the following year. I hope my class ideas are what you’re looking for and that you can find a class to suit your wishes.

So here are some of the details:

I will be hosting a range of seasonal flower classes each with different themes based on ideas that inspire me. They will run out of two locations. The London classes will be held at the beautiful old Georgian Bell House in Dulwich, London and our country classes will be held at our Cotswold studio in West Kington Wick, a little village just outside of Bath and very close to the charming village of Castle Combe.

The classes will cover a variety of techniques, from morning table arrangements and wreath workshops, full day classes of foam-free installations, romantic bouquets and natural arrangements to my one and only three day wedding masterclass. These are all for everyone, I encourage all abilities, whether you're just beginning your career in floristry, you'd like to develop a new skill or you’d just love a day immersed in flowers, I’d love to host you.

So that everyone can get the most out of the class the numbers will be limited to 10 people per class. I am also sensitive to the fact that some of you will be travelling from far away lands and although we can’t offer accommodation, I have compiled a list of lovely local hotels and B&B’s that I’d be more than happy to share with you.

In addition to the scheduled classes, if you’re able to get a group of you together or would prefer a one to one class, this can be something we can custom make together, structured to suit exactly what you’d like to learn. Let me know and we can arrange diaries.

You can view all the classes here or for any other information please contact me at studio@poppysturley.co.uk

I’m so looking forward to hearing from you, answering any questions you have and welcoming you to our new Flower School! It’s going to be beautiful…

P.S.

On a final note:

If you’re a bride, don’t panic - we will still be running weddings and will work these around the calendar. Perhaps even incorporate into the flower school in the years to come.

“Do what you please, follow your own star; be original if you want to be and don't if you don't want to be. Just be natural and light-hearted and pretty and simple and overflowing and general and baroque and bare and austere and stylised and wild and daring and conservative, and learn and learn and learn. Open your mind to every form of beauty.” Constance Spry
